For years, I have been intrigued by the layers present in the world around me. The mystery of what lay underneath the landscapes of Alberta inspired me to dig beneath the surface. What I found prompted an exploration of the Earth’s geology, within this province.
The first layer is the rockscape, magnified, of a specific region’s foundation. The second is a topographical map that illustrates the natural contours of the earth’s surface where each rock was found. Finally, the third layer is a representation of what I found above the rock; the landscape we see.
